Here’s a brief update regarding ongoing activity around Blossom Street. We hope you find this update helpful but please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Upcoming activity around Blossom Street

Over the course of the next few weeks we will be carrying out some necessary building surveys and investigations around the area, particularly within the courtyard north of Fleur de Lis Street. These will allow us to better understand the geology of the site.

Loom Court

In addition to this, our contractor, Cantillon, are preparing Loom Court building to be used as offices for the site team ahead of the imminent commencement of works on site in February 2019. This will involve the removal of internal fixtures and fittings to enable the internal partition walls to be installed and the subsequent decoration of facilities. These will mean a slight increase in site activity and deliveries to the site, which will also be carried out during the normal working hours (between 08:00 and 18:00).

Fleur de Lis and Blossom Street Temporary Stopping up

As you may be aware, we have applied to temporarily ‘stop up’ public access to parts of Fleur de Lis Street and Blossom Street, and the entirety of Fleur de Lis Passage. If we receive permission to do so, this closure will start on Thursday 31st January 2019 and will be returned to full public use following completion of the new development. Access only privileges will be maintained up to 16-17 Blossom Street from Folgate Street for the Point A hotel.

During the stopping up period, there will be signposted alternative diversion routes to minimise inconvenience:

  • Pedestrians should either use Commercial Street to access Shoreditch High Street or alternatively continue to use Folgate Street via Elder Street.
  • Residents’ vehicles or deliveries may continue to access Elder Street via Folgate Street. Access to Fleur De Lis Street between Commercial Street and Elder Street is maintained, as is the northern section of Elder Street connecting with Commercial Street.
  • We are committed to maintaining access to emergency services vehicles during local emergency.

During the course of the stopping up period we will continue to maintain a security presence and will provide a site contact should you need to contact us in the event of an emergency.
