Further to recent testing carried out, we are planning to continue fire alarm testing in buildings S1, S1a, and S1c, between 16.00 and 21.00, on Wednesday 9th August. These tests will include externally mounted sounders on the roofs and terraces.
We are having to carry out these tests out of hours for the following reasons:
- Health and Safety – Internal audibility levels are more than those permitted for normal working, which could affect others not involved in the activity.
- To avoid confusion between the test and an actual fire alarm. This is to prevent false evacuations of the building which would result in high volumes of people congregating at muster points external to the site.
